slangs

British Slangs
There are some expressions we are not very familiar with because we only use them in England:
Susan smokes a lot, almost 40 fags a day! (cigarettes)

They drank a lot yesterday; they must have spent more than fifty quid on booze. (quid-pounds / booze-alcohol)

David is always complaining. Last night he kicked up a fuss and went away. (complained a lot)
I was fired and now I am flat broke. (broke / without money)

She told me she was downtown when someone nicked her wallet from her pocket. (stole)

Can I use your mobile, please? ……. Ta. (thank you)

Are you going to pay all this money for that? You must be nuts. (crazy)

There is nothing good on the box on Sundays. (TV)
